Following our visit to the DSAA airbase in April, the GFT were delighted to donate £25,000 towards the DSAA charity’s aim of raising £1m to equip a second emergency helicopter which, it is hoped, will come into service during the summer of 2026.

Chair of Trustees, Richard Gale, said “I had always thought that the DSAA was funded by the NHS, but in reality, it is run by a charity which relies on donations and fundraising. Currently, the DSAA responds to around 3,500 call outs a year and the provision of a second helicopter will enable further life saving missions to be carried out; with the service being able to operate 24 hours a day and cover for the first helicopter when it is out for maintenance.”
