About Us

An Independent Charity Organisation based in BCP

The Gale Foundation Trust CIO, a grant making charity based in Bournemouth, Dorset, was founded by Richard Gale and his parents Edward and Kath in 2015. The objectives are broad and reflect the diverse causes close to their hearts.

Over the next few years the charity will expand to help dementia and cancer research as well as animal conservation and welfare but at present its focus is on helping disadvantaged children across the south of England.

Since the charity’s inception both Kath and Edward have passed away. When the Trust was originally founded Bryan Hoile Bsc. Hons., a close friend of the family became the fourth Trustee and he still remains. In 2021 we were joined by Tom Baker who became out third Trustee. Tom has worked for Richard for over 15 years and forms a crucial part in the administration and day to day running of the charity, a role he has fulfilled since its inception.

The registered office of the Trust is the same as Gale Homes and Investments Ltd who kindly cover a majority of the running costs of the charity meaning with low expenditure the vast majority of our income can be spent on the causes we support.
