Toys Retailing at Nearly £3000 Donated to Mission Christmas

The GFT have increased the number of gifts provided to Mission Christmas each year by striking deals with major retailers allowing us to buy and donate toys that will be distributed by local charities to children and young adults living in poverty and hardship.

Sainsburys' Toy. Sale Deal 2021 Donated to Mission Christmas

One such deal has seen us take advantage of Sainsburys' toy sale where we bought over 200 toys discounted from nearly £3,000 to £2,000.

These toys will go to youngsters that would otherwise end up with no presents to open on Christmas day.

Richard from the GFT is pictured receiving a cheque for £1,300 from Dick Thomas, General Manager of the Poole Centenary Club.

The money, raised in aid of Wave 105’s Cash for Kids Mission Christmas campaign, was collected in a little over a month through various fundraising events organised by the club.

Charity organiser, Lee Moxom, said ‘As a club we were delighted to raise money to help provide disadvantaged kids, living in poverty, with presents to open this Christmas’.

As major donators to the Mission Christmas appeal, the GFT through their buying contacts managed to buy, with the money donated, 150 kids Looney Tunes backpacks and 337 vegan leather teenager shoulder bags/backpacks.

To buy these products online would have cost £8,177!

Rare European Super League Shirt Auctions To Benefit GFT

Rare European Super League T ShirtPoole based Wholesale Clearance Warehouse (WCW) have been charged with selling thousands of European Super League shirts which were printed in advance of the launch of the doomed project.

Of particular interest to collectors, WCW are to auction 4 of the pre-production samples that were produced, 2 Manchester City shirts and 2 Arsenal shirts. The first auction of these very rare ‘one offs’ has just finished and sold for £111.

In a very kind gesture, Karl and Andy at WCW, have pledged to give half of the proceeds of each of the 4 auctions to the GFT. Our thanks to them both for this very kind gesture.

The next auction will be announced shortly.
